Add a small LCD to your projector room for daily use.

Technology is bringing new features to our home theaters. For example, we just purchased a new Sony bluray player that not only streams Netflix, YouTube and many other internet video feeds but it also streams internet radio stations and audio/music from your music library on a computer in your home network. This is a great convenience feature. It makes us want to use our theater everyday as a way to play music. Our theater has an HD projector for the screen monitor and the selection of songs or internet stations are made from this screen. This is not an efficient use of the expensive projection bulb just to select music from a menu. It would be better to have a smaller LCD screen to view the GUI (Graphical User Interface) for music/audio selections. These LCD screens can easily tolerate the frequent power up and power down when all you wanted to do is change the artist or genre of music. A very small LCD (laptop size) on a stand next to the sofa or on the coffee table would do the trick. The addition of a video switch or multi distribution box will handle the video for both the small LCD and the overhead theater projector. Perfect! Save the HD projector bulb for movie nights when the big picture matters.
